ITIM in Action

ITIM petitioned the High Court of Justice against the Chief Rabbi of Rishon Letzion, Rabbi Yehuda David Volpa, and against the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, demanding that Rabbi Volpa be brought before a disciplinary hearing for referring applicants for marriage registration to private investigators, which is against the law. The Rabbi is allegedly responsible for deviations from his authority, violation of human dignity and the right to privacy, discrimination against new immigrants, violation of the right to marry, and burdening residents with unnecessary expenses.
